Movement Foundations
An eight-week introductory MOVI course about the body, movement and embodied learning.
Movement Foundations is an introductory MOVI course where you discover essential movement principles, the culture of practice, and a broader perspective on the body, learning and life through movement.
During the course, movement is explored not as body training but as a way to develop body intelligence, self-regulation, coordination, perception and a living relationship with yourself and others.
Dates: 5 October – 25 November 2026 · Format: 16 sessions / 36 hours · Price: €480 · Location: Vilnius
WHAT THIS COURSE DEVELOPS
Physical transformation
You will restore natural physical capacities – positions and movement sequences inherent to human anatomy. You will integrate strength, mobility, elasticity, endurance and resilience. The aim is not to isolate one quality, but to cultivate a light, free and comfortable body that can respond across many situations in life.
Skills transformation
You will discover coordination principles that connect different activities and learn to move with greater ease and efficiency. You will develop broad adaptability, faster learning and the ability to respond in changing conditions. You will be able to do more.
State transformation
Through conscious movement, you will recognise body intelligence as a source of vitality, inner wisdom and creativity. You will develop sustained attention, sensory sensitivity and embodied self-awareness.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND GAIN
Restore your natural physical capacities: range of motion, freedom of movement and trust in your body.
Develop transferable movement skills: coordination, rhythm, responsiveness, spatial awareness, adaptive strength and mobility.
Develop locomotion, balance, floor work, hanging and support scenarios.
Learn to regulate your state through movement, attention, rhythm, breath and partnership.
Deepen self-awareness and communication by sensing your body, other people and the environment more clearly.
Build a personal practice that can continue beyond the MOVI space.
WHO THE COURSE IS FOR
This course is for people who want to begin their MOVI journey or meet their body in a new way. No previous experience is required. The level of intensity can be adapted, but curiosity, openness to exploration and a willingness to learn in a group are essential. This is not a fitness class or a one-off workout – it is a living educational process.
WHY MOVEMENT FOUNDATIONS?
A clear introduction to MOVI practice and embodied learning.
We begin with simple movement situations and gradually increase complexity.
We combine athleticism, coordination, play, reflection, partnership and self-regulation.
We learn not only techniques, but principles and movement maps that apply to everyday life.
The group becomes a field for learning: we observe, communicate, support one another and learn together.
The practice invites you to experience the body as a living, intelligent system that is always learning.
ESSENTIAL PRACTICAL MOVEMENT MAPS WE WILL EXPLORE
1
Whole-body integration in arm swings, walking, running and jumping – rhythm and spatial thinking. Through coordination sequences, we will explore greater integration of the arms, pelvis and chest, and more freedom of movement in space. This is an opportunity to rediscover how your body works across multiple planes.
2
Athletic, healthy legs – support, foot architecture and the relationship between pelvis, knee and ankle. We will build sustainable leg architecture: strong, sensitive and ready for the unexpected. We will explore balance, lowering, lunges and support in motion.
3
The spine as the axis of movement – strength, mobility and flexibility. We will practise movements that support spinal stability without losing freedom. We will improvise, play and observe how the whole torso organises itself and how the state of the spine affects how we feel.
4
Moving asanas – locomotion principles and sequences, floor work, and efficient transitions between rising and lowering. We return to the roots of movement: the human body’s essential living territory from lying down to standing, creatively connecting individual forms into movement sequences.
5
Five foundational movement qualities – we will explore how different qualities of movement affect our inner state and how they can become practical tools for self-regulation in everyday life.
